I love desserts. I especially love desserts that are quick to prepare. So it is of no surprise that this No-Bake Cheesecake is my go-to when I’m asked to whip up a delicious dessert for a special dinner. This dessert is also very versatile since it can be served in many ways; with a graham cracker crust, as a parfait or in edible cups – which is how I chose to serve it today.
What makes this dessert so easy and quick to assemble is the fact that most of the ingredients are pre-made. These shortcuts are absolutely welcome when I need a dessert in a hurry! You’ll need a package of whipped toping mix (I prefer Kraft Dream Whip), a block of cream cheese and a can of fruit pie filling. Boom. Most of your work is done.
In a mixing bowl, prepare whipped topping as per directions. In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese with sugar until cheese is light and fluffy. Add whipped topping to cheese mixture until mixed thoroughly.
Since this dessert is so easy, I decided to pipe the cheese mixture into these chocolate bear-claws for a slightly fancier take on the recipe. Spoiler alert: it’s still just as easy! Since the chocolate cups are pre-made, the hardest step was deciding which store bought chocolate cup I liked better.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a piping bag, you can always spoon the cheese mixture into a large ziplock bag and cut the tip off of one of the ends. Instant piping bag! Once you pipe the cheese mixture into the chocolate cups, top with a small dollop of pie filling – I chose blueberry – and finish with a few fresh berries for garnish. Be sure to chill the finished product in the fridge for at least 2 hours (but if you’re in a rush, it’s still delicious without chilling).
In less than half an hour of prep, you’ll have created have a pretty fancy looking dessert and your friends will never know about those great shortcuts, they’ll be too busy complimenting the chef! What are some of your cooking shortcuts? Let me know in the comment section below!
